Notre Dame Cathedral is probably one of the most well known pieces of stunning French gothic architecture in the world. The actual construction started in 1163 and was finally completed in 1345 with spectacular results. The magnificent organ which is housed here has seen much change, being almost totally rebuilt in the nineteenth century, it has 7800 pipes with 900 of those being classified as historical. The cathedral itself has played host too many historic events, the last being in 2007. Notre dame has been the centre piece for many movies over the years but more famously the novel by Victor Hugo and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. There really is so much history which has evolved around the cathedral and everyone can enjoy its offerings totally free of charge, with many frequent concerts being played here for you to enjoy without spending a penny.
