While there is no easy answer to this, as some companies do charge considerably more for two adults and two children, than four adults sharing self catering accommodation and some add a surcharge for just two adults. There are a few bargains to be had if you are thinking about full board accommodation, such as free children etc, but they can be few and far between. The thing that you have to remember is, when booking full board, not only are all your meals included but some drinks as well, which can be a considerable saving for some. If you book self catering there are savings to be made, if you don’t eat out at restaurants every day.

By going to the local supermarket and buying your groceries, which does mean cooking all the food yourself, something most of us like to get away from. You do get the option of eating when you want to, not everyone gets hungry at the same time every day, some people like to snack during the day and have a full meal later in the evening. With full board you are set to a sometimes very strict timetable and if you don’t feel hungry when the restaurant is open, you have wasted money. It really does depend on the individuals, some like the fact that they can eat at different restaurants every night and depending on where you are, you can eat quite cheaply and enjoy good local food. For people who are on a budget and they get a really good deal on their self catering holiday, it could work out much cheaper all round.
